Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. If you have questions, email privacy@respaceai.app.
2. What we collect
Information you give us directly
- Account info — your Google or Apple account identity (such as email, display name, and profile photo where provided) when you sign in
- Country of residence — selected during onboarding so we can show local retailers and pricing
- Style preferences — answers from the Style DNA quiz (selected styles, budget tier, priority)
- Photos you upload — photos of rooms you want redesigned
- Stylist conversations — messages and photos you send, AI replies, and product or generation results, stored with your account so you can resume the conversation across devices
- Room dimensions — optional length/width you enter if you enable the "exact dimensions" toggle
Information we generate from your activity
- Your generations — the AI-redesigned images and product shopping lists created from your photos
- Subscription status — whether you're Free or Pro, daily/monthly generation counts (no payment card info)
Technical information
- Device type and browser (derived from the request headers)
- IP address — used only for abuse prevention and crash logs; not stored with your user profile
- Analytics events — screen views and feature usage via Firebase Analytics, which may be associated with your app account identifier
- Push notification tokens — only if you grant notification permission
3. How we use it
- Generate AI redesigns of your rooms (photos sent to Google Vertex AI for processing)
- Match products from real retailers to the designs we generate
- Answer your Stylist messages and carry out design requests (messages, relevant conversation history, and attached room photos are sent to Google Vertex AI for processing)
- Remember your preferences between sessions (country, style, generation history)
- Send push notifications when your redesigns are ready (only if you granted permission)
- Detect abuse, prevent fraud, and keep the service running
- Improve product quality by looking at aggregate patterns (never individual users' photos)
4. Who we share it with
Infrastructure providers we depend on
- Google Cloud (Firebase + Vertex AI) — hosts our backend, database, authentication, and powers the AI generation. Your photos, Stylist messages, and relevant conversation history are transmitted to Google Vertex AI for processing under Google Cloud's applicable data processing terms.
- RevenueCat — syncs your subscription state between Apple / Google and our backend, for purchases and subscriptions.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your personal information to third-party data brokers
- We do not share your uploaded photos with retailers or any third party other than Google Vertex AI for generation
- We do not use your photos or generations to train AI models
5. How long we keep it
- While your account is active — we keep your generations, uploaded photos, Stylist conversations, and preferences so you can access your history at any time
- After account deletion — fully deleted from our systems within 30 days of your request
- Deletion on request — email privacy@respaceai.app from your account email; we'll confirm before deleting
- Technical logs (IP, crash reports) — retained for up to 90 days then purged
6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA and similar)
Regardless of where you live, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your data
- Delete — request deletion of your account and data
- Correct — update inaccurate information (most can be done in the app directly)
- Export — request a portable copy of your generations, Stylist conversations, and preferences
- Object — request we stop processing your data for specific purposes (e.g., analytics)

7. Cookies and tracking
- Firebase Analytics uses cookies and local storage to count returning users and feature usage
- Firebase Authentication uses cookies to keep you signed in across sessions
- You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the app still works, but some conveniences may break (like staying signed in across reloads)
8. Children
ReSpace is intended for users aged 17 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 17. If we learn a user is under 17, we will delete their account and any associated data. If you believe a child is using ReSpace, please email privacy@respaceai.app.
9. Changes to this policy
We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top when this policy changes. For material changes — such as new data practices or new third parties — we'll also notify you in the app before the changes take effect.
